Introduction: The "Chicago" Music Experience
9-10-2021
"Introduction" is a Tribute to the music of Chicago (formerly Chicago Transit Authority).
"Introduction" is the name of the first song of the first Chicago album and the beginning of a musical legacy that spans five decades. This project was born of a deep admiration and respect for Chicago's artists and their early music. Introduction has been performing throughout the east coast for seven years and have established themselves as one of the most sought after Chicago Tributes in the business, regularly drawing large audiences at well know venues such as Showcase Live, Infinity Hall, Norfolk and Hartford and Harrah's in Philadelphia.
"Chicago Transit Authority" were signed to Columbia Records in 1968 by James William Guercio ( ). They are the first American band to chart in the top 40 in five consecutive decades. In Billboard Magazine’s recent list of Top 100 artists of all time, Chicago came in at #13, the highest charting American band. Record sales top the 120 million mark and include 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles, and 5 Gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 32 albums have been certified platinum and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards.
What "Introduction" brings to the audience is not only the tremendous catalogue of Chicago’s music but a reminder of the times and events that shaped their lives and their writing. Unlike other Chicago tributes, Introduction only performs songs from Chicago's early catalogue 1968-1978 capturing the raw guitar driven sound that projected Chicago into music's forefront during the band's Terry Kath era, and paying careful attention to every musical and vocal nuance to deliver what is the most memorable Chicago show of any Chicago tribute band in the US and Canada!
